Welcome to the BC Lupus Society

Empowering lives affected by lupus through education, support, advocacy, and research.

We’re here to raise awareness, advance treatment, and build a stronger community for the thousands of British Columbians living with lupus.

  • To support advances in research and treatments; to create public awareness; to provide education and support to people affected by lupus.

    • That early diagnosis and optimal treatment will be available to everyone with lupus

    • That the public at large will be aware of lupus

    • To ensure community based support networks and services

  • Every donation helps fund research, support programs, and life-saving education for people living with lupus in BC.

    Together, we can conquer lupus.

What is lupus?

Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease that can affect any part of the body in unpredictable ways.

Its symptoms vary widely, making diagnosis challenging, and it often comes and goes in cycles. Without early detection, lupus can lead to serious complications, including organ damage.

We grow because you care.

Your donation does more than raise awareness; it fuels real change for people living with lupus. When you give, you help educate the public and healthcare professionals for earlier recognition and diagnosis, empower patients with accessible resources and support programs, advance research through scholarships and clinical studies, and advocate for better care and policy driven by those affected.

Every contribution brings us closer to a world where lupus is understood, treatable, and one day — curable. The more people know, the more they can do.

Together, we can conquer lupus.

Thank you to everyone who attended the
34th Annual Lupus Symposium!

This year’s event took place on May 10th, 2025 - World Lupus Day - where attendees enjoyed a morning of informative sessions from our engaging speakers, including healthcare professionals and patients, and opportunities to connect with others in the lupus community.

We are grateful to everyone who joined us and helped make the day a success.

If you were unable to attend but still wish to view the event, you can watch each presenter on our YouTube channel.
